How old school video game music worked
Recently I've taken an interest to old school video game music.
As an audio nerd at heart, I freaking love this stuff.
The video below is super well done and walks you through the evolution of audio and video games all the way from the original Atari up to the mp3 file (which made all of the rest of the technology irrelevant...)
But it's super fascinating.
I've been now going on experiments creating my own old school video game music.
I'm learning how the audio on each console worked, and then setting up my computer to emulate each console.
My first experiments were for an NES, and Commodore 64.
Next up, Sega Genesis (This shit is way more complex...)
